Our natural butter flavors…
…are characterized by a fine and balanced butter taste. This can only be achieved with real butter, which we use as a basic raw material for our natural butter flavors.

Our natural butter flavors…
…have a firm texture. They have to be refrigerated at 3-8°C while storing and shipping. Shelf life is between 6 and 12 months, depending on the product. For the convenience of our customers we convert the natural butter flavor paste by spray drying into a powder. This leads to an ambient storage temperature at 20-25°C. Shelf life is minimum 12 months.

...are delivered in 15 kg pails (paste form) or in 20 kg bags (powder form). Minimum order quantity is one unit.

Our natural butter flavors…
...are in general halal certified, by the HFCE (Halal Food Council of Europe). Certain specialties are halal certifiable on request.

...are also available with VLOG certification, which is a proof for food manufactured without gentetic technology.

 

Manufacturing process:

In the United States, this particular category of natural milk flavors is known as Enzyme Modified Dairy Ingredient, EMDI.

These particularly authentic tasting natural butter flavors are made from milk or butter fat. The added enzymes and bacteria ferment under optimal conditions and thereby produce an extraordinarily high concentration of the taste components, which are responsible for a particularly creamy / rich or even slightly acidic taste. This process is purely natural and is carried out by microorganisms. The results are pastes (or flavoring powders) with different taste / aromatic characteristics.

Starter Distillate:

A specialty among the natural butter flavors is the Starter Distillate. It is only produced by very few manufacturers worldwide, as this is an extremely complex process. Lactic acid bacteria ripen the milk and thereby produce various aroma components, mainly diacetyl. The ferment obtained in this way is also known in the dairy industry as "culture" and is used, for example, in the production of sour cream butter. In order to obtain an even higher concentration of the taste, the fermented milk is distilled. The product name comes from this process: Starter Distillate.

Our natural starter distillate…
…is a water soluble, natural butter flavor type, which is available in varying levels of strength. It has a well rounded, fresh, and creamy butter taste. In the final product, it could be declared as “Natural Flavor”.

Our natural starter distillate…
…is derived from milk which is fermented by selective lactic culture, further purified by steam distillation. It contains a standardized level of natural diacetyl and acetoin, both are derived strictly through the fermentation of milk. Therefore our starter distillate is also an excellent natural replacement for synthetic diacetyl.

Our natural starter distillate…
…is liquid and has a shelf life of 12 months, stored at ambient temperature (20-25°C).

Our natural starter distillate…
...is delivered as 25kg unit in polyethylene canister or as 1000kg unit in IBC containers. Minimum order quantity is 25kg.

...is in general halal certified, by the HFCE (Halal Food Council of Europe) and kosher certtified (Orthodox Union).
